I'm Kayla, and I'm so glad you stopped by.
I've been a lifelong reader, but over the past few years my reading life has become much more intentional. I read both physical books and audiobooks, averaging dozens of books each year across a wide range of genres. You'll most often find me reaching for historical fiction, fantasy, and romantasy, but I'm always open to discovering something new.
Like many readers, I've been posting reviews on sites like Goodreads and NetGalley. Eventually, I realized I wanted a place that was truly my own. A place where I could collect my thoughts, keep track of the books I've read, and hopefully help other readers discover their next favorite book.
That's why this blog exists.
What You Can Expect
If you're looking for glowing five-star reviews of every popular release, you probably won't find them here.
I believe every book deserves an honest review, whether I loved it, liked it, or struggled to finish it. A lower rating doesn't necessarily mean a book is "bad," and a five-star rating doesn't mean it's right for everyone. My goal isn't to tell you what to think. It's to give you enough information to decide whether a book is a good fit for you.
Every review is spoiler-free and focuses on the things that matter most to me as a reader:

Most importantly, I'll always tell you who I think a book is for, because the right book can find the right reader even if it wasn't the right book for me.
Why I Read
Books have always been more than entertainment to me.
They're a way to experience different lives, different perspectives, and different worlds. Some books make me think. Others make me laugh, cry, or stay up far later than I should because I can't bear to stop reading. Even the books that don't completely work for me usually have something interesting to say.
That's what I hope to capture here. Not just whether I liked a book, but why.
